About The Mega Mentoring Plus River Rally 

We've teamed up with CK SUP & Paddle to launch a boat race with a difference. We'll be jumping into Katakanus in teams of 6, at the river bank at The Boathouse, Newbridge and rallying together for young lives in Bath & North East Somerset. 

Your boat 

A Katakanu is a human-powered catamaran boat, with 6 people who sit facing forwards and use a paddle with one blade.

Your team:

6 rowers per Katakanu

Your health & safety

Rowers need to be 16 years and above to be in the Katakanu.

CK SUP & Paddle are providing a safety boat, which will be on the water following each race. Lifejackets will be provided and must be worn while on the Katakanus.

Your race

Each Katakanu will take part in at least three 200m sprints paddling at pace towards the finish line. 

Your rally rivals

Local organisations or teams of friends are invited to compete and paddle their way to river rally glory.  

Your river rally attire: 

Lightweight and quick drying clothing is a must. You're welcome to jazz up your river rally gear with fancy dress, as we’ll have a prize for the best dressed crew!

The Venue

When you’re not racing you can enjoy food and drink at The Boathouse whilst cheering on the other teams (shelter in case of rain, food, drinks)

Fee to enter

Each Katakanu for 6 paddlers costs £300 (£50pp). You can have as many paddlers as you like and rotate them, so that everyone gets a chance to enjoy the day.

Fundraising

We ask that each individual crew member aims to raise at least £50 in addition to the £300 entry fee. 

All funds raised will enable Mentoring Plus to continue its provision of award-winning mentoring support and inspiring activities and youth clubs for young people in Bath & North East Somerset.

By rallying together for young lives, you’ll help young people aged 5-25 years old feel safe, heard, and hopeful for their future
