Equinox Arts: An Evening of Live Music and Storytelling

Sat 19 Sep 2026 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Southampton Buddhist Centre, SO14 1NW

Join Saddhabhaya, Nick Hudson and Merl Fluin for an evening of equinox enchantments.

Equinox is a mysterious time. Day and night are in balance, summer trembles on the brink of autumn, the planet holds its breath. We mark the moment with songs and stories of stillness and change.

In the first half of a perfectly balanced evening, Nick and Saddhabhaya play familiar tunes and original material. Expect an eclectic, bittersweet mix of silly and serious, darkness and light.

In the second  half, Merl tells wild and wondrous stories of Padmasambhava, the Precious Guru who was born from a lotus, tamed gods and demons, and brought the Tantra to Tibet. Shimmering on the threshold between myth and history, gazing at the world with his famous wrathful smile, he's the perfect Buddha for liminal times – and this year, Padmasambhava Day falls on the equinox weekend.
