We are offering an online supportive and creative space for adoptees to explore identity, belonging, and loss through expressive arts on a path of self-discovery and resilience. No artistic experience is needed, only a willingness to create, explore, and reflect. Through weekly guided art activities, gentle discussions, and shared lived experiences the circle hopes to provide healing, groundedness, and repair.

This student-led art therapy group is part of a practicum placement. All sessions are conducted under the supervision of a registered art therapist in alignment with KATI's ethical and educational guidelines.

Subsidies are available upon request. Please contact marketing@kutenaiarttherapy.com for more information.

Margo is an art therapy student with Kootenai Art Therapy Institute and is based out of Calgary, Alberta. She is an adoptee herself and has experienced reunions and non-reunions. She understands the complexities of adoption relationships, the shifting and changing nature of living with adoption.

Margo believes strongly in using expressive arts to connect deeply to ourselves, others, and our unique journey. She brings together her lived experience and creative expression, supporting adoptees where they are on their journey. Margo believes deeply in the reparative potential of nature, traditional crafting, and infinite curiosity.

When she is not immersed in art making, Margo enjoys anything outdoors, thrifting, yoga, meditation, exploring, being with her family, and reading.

Margo is excited to explore the adopted experience together with Celina in our Circle, as we create in an inspired held space.

Celina is an art therapy student at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute and is based in Peterborough, Ontario. Celina has mixed ancestry, she is Ojibwe, Italian, and Irish, and her identity and lived experiences deeply inform her approach to healing, creativity, and community. She is a proud member of Curve Lake First Nation and belongs to the Black Duck Clan.

She is passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and connected. Drawn to a relational and strengths-based approach, Celina believes that art can be a powerful pathway to self-expression, healing, and meaningful connection with ourselves, our stories, one another, and the land. She often finds inspiration, grounding, and renewal through nature, visual storytelling, and creative exploration.

As both an artist and lifelong learner, Celina enjoys expressing herself through painting, collage, scrapbooking, poetry, writing, and cooking. She believes that creativity exists in many forms and values the ways everyday.
