You can buy tickets for both events here.
Sacred Song Ceremony
FRIDAY 8th November, 6pm till 9pm:
This is an invitation to circle together around a simple altar and offer songs and prayers to the spirit and our beautiful living earth, especially at this time of Samhain, the beginning of the Celtic new year.
I expect this circle to be deep and introspective, guided by my own songs and songs I have gathered from being in ceremonies over the years. We will be in low light held in the sacred embrace of community, to uplift a prayer of love and gratitude in the power and beauty of music and sacred song. Many of the songs will be in Portuguese and Spanish, but some also in English and some without words so we can just open our voices and be in the magic of sound. There will be an opportunity for you to offer prayers and songs during the ceremony too.
I look forward very much to reconnecting with all the beautiful people of Glastonbury including many old friends, and lift up a prayer together in the incredible new space of Sambogaya. There will be some time before and after the ceremony to chat, drink tea and connect with one another.
The next day I will hold a Medicine Songs Learning Circle, and am offering a discount for those who want to come to both events.
Medicine Songs Learning Circle:
SATURDAY 9th November, 2pm till 5pm
This is an opportunity to dive deeper into the songs that are dear to my heart. Songs I have written and songs I have gathered on my travels. I will print the lyrics to a number of these precious songs along with English translations and we will sing these songs together. We will also explore their meanings including the history and cultures they come from. We will also look at how to honour the songs and carry them in a good way. I will likely choose songs that were shared in the Song Ceremony the night before.
You will be welcome to take some simple voice recordings of most of the songs we study.
Please bring something to give as an offering, such as some organic tobacco, (could be mapacho), or anything else that is chemical free and biodegradeable. It is important that your offering something that has personal significance to you, something you especially love and value. It could be apples, herbs, chocolate, incense etc… or something you have made.
I really look forward to being with you all. It feels important to my heart and my path to do this work and I really appreciate your love and support.
With love,
Michael
