Join us in Middleburg for readings and activities with Children's authors, Patricia (Pat) Tanumihardja, Meghana Narayan + Hena Khan. We will kick off this event at 1pm with readings every half hour. RSVP here!
About the Author, Pat Tanumihardja
Born in Jakarta and raised in Singapore, Patricia (Pat) Tanumihardja writes fun, heartwarming stories that often reflect her multicultural upbringing in Southeast Asia. Pat’s Chinese Indonesian parents encouraged her appetites for both delicious foods and good books, resulting in a writing career th at spans both cookbooks and children’s books. She has written 4 cookbooks including THE ASIAN GRANDMOTHERS COOKBOOK and ASIAN PICKLES AT HOME. Her debut picture book RAMEN FOR EVERYONE was an indie bookstore favorite and a JLG Gold Selection, and THE SUGAR PLUM BAKERS—A TALE OF 12 HOLIDAY TREATS. Pat lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and son. About the Author, Meghana Narayan
Meghana is a picture book creator. She is the daughter of Indian immigrants. She graduated from Columbia University, has an MA in Literacy, and taught in early childhood classrooms for over a decade. She is a mama of two girls and one rambunctious dog named Diggity. After stepping away from the classroom she founded Teach For The Change, a platform where she shares her passion of creating more inclusive and diverse spaces and experiences for little ones. She is also a visual artist who creates alongside her daughters each day. Meghana lives in Maryland, where you can find her chasing her children through the garden and stuffing her pockets with all kinds of natural treasures!
About the Author, Hena Khan
Hena Khan has been publishing books for children, including many that center Pakistani American and Muslim characters, for over two decades. She writes award-winning books in a multitude of formats, including picture books, middle grade fiction, pick-your-path adventures, and graphic novels. Her stories are often centered around her culture, community, friendship, and family, and draw from her own experiences. Hena’s bestselling novels include Amina’s Voice and More to the Story. She is also the author of the Zayd Saleem Chasing the Dream, Zara’s Rules, and Super You! series. Hena’s acclaimed picture books include Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns, Under My Hijab, and It’s Ramadan, Curious George. She holds an MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University, has served on the board of We Need Diverse Books, and is a member of the Children’s Book Guild of DC. Hena lives in her hometown of Rockville, Maryland.
