Join us for a fun and festive Valentine's/Galentine's themed evening of pretty lettering at Middleburg Books! Whether you're a stationery enthusiast, a DIY bride-to-be, or simply love getting crafty, this beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect introduction to modern calligraphy using a pointed dip pen and ink.

Led by calligrapher Tabatha of Sip & ScriptⓇ, the class will cover all the basics—from how to hold your pen to forming elegant letterforms—so you can start adding personal, hand-lettered touches to everything from snail mail and wedding invitations to home decor and gifts.

What’s Included:

• 1.5 hours of hands-on instruction and demonstration

• A beginner’s calligraphy kit to take home:

  • Two nibs

  • Black ink pot

  • Two lettering guides

  • Tracing paper

  • Straight pen holder

• Practice materials (everything you need during class!)

What to Expect:

• Perfect for beginners—no experience necessary

• Left-handed participants are absolutely welcome

• You'll leave with the confidence to keep practicing at home

• Great as a refresher course if you’ve dabbled in calligraphy before

• Tabatha’s technique focuses on building muscle memory and developing your unique style

Feel free to bring food and drinks to enjoy during the workshop! Wine, beer, and hard seltzers are welcome (no hard liquor, please). Middleburg Books will provide sparkling water.

Young calligraphers are welcome, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
