We’re doing something a little different for Supper Club this May, and we think you’re going to love it. In the midst of a season that tends to fill every square on the calendar, we’re leaning into a sweeter, slower kind of gathering. This month, we’re celebrating the delightful world of Italian cookies with the newest cookbook from beloved Italian food writer Domenica Marchetti. 

We’ll begin the evening with Italian cheeses and light refreshments as Mary Beth sits down to chat with Domenica about her remarkable career in food and travel writing - and the inspiration behind her latest book, Italian Cookies. It’s a journey through all 20 regions of Italy, where each cookie tells a story: of place, of people, and of tradition. From buttery northern delights to olive oil-kissed southern treats, from delicate piped confections to hearty dunking biscotti, these recipes are little edible pieces of history. 

What makes this book especially magical is its heart. Domenica’s travels led her not just to recipes, but to the bakers and artisans who keep these traditions alive—mixing, shaping, and baking by hand. It’s a reminder that even the humblest cookie carries the imprint of care, craft, and culture. 

To round out the evening, we invite you to join in a spring Italian cookie exchange. Choose a recipe from the book, bake something that speaks to you, and bring it along to share. It’s our own little grand tour—no passport required. We can’t wait to gather, taste, and celebrate this delicious twist on Supper Club with you. 

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:

Everyone will prepare a dish from  Italian Cookies by Domenica Marchetti. Within a few days of signing up, you’ll receive access to a spreadsheet where attendees list their chosen dishes.

Then we’ll gather at the Community Center on May 18th and for an exchange. 

If you purchase a copy of the book from us with your ticket, you can pick up the book in the store. We'll let you know when it's arrived!
