Daddy's Girl by Elle Douglas

Jules has always looked after her dad, Clive, doing his shopping, making his tea and cleaning up after him. But when she falls pregnant, she questions everything. Can she be a good parent when she has been parented by someone so self-absorbed? Will her relationship with her dad withstand having a baby? And can she burden her unborn child with a man like Clive?

Daddy's Girl is a brand-new 70-minute commission for Fresh Ink and a work-in-progress play. A second draft of the script will be performed script-in-hand inside a marquee on Stage@TheDock in Hull's Fruit Market.

Elle Douglas is a singer and writer, originally from Newcastle and now living in Hull, who was commissioned to write a children’s show with music for Durham Gala Theatre in 2023.

A limited number of tickets will be reserved to book on the day from our festival box office, by the venue.
