Join us for the Opening Ceremony of Timothy Laurin’s 2026 exhibition, an evocative exploration of memory, identity, family history, and the enduring connection to Georgian Bay. Through his works Laurin brings together personal archives and imagined narratives inspired by generations shaped by the waters of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.
A graduate of Sheridan College School of Design and York University, Timothy Laurin has worked as a professional artist for more than thirty years, exhibiting internationally and earning recognition in permanent collections including the Royal Ontario Museum and the Corning Museum of Glass. Deeply rooted in Penetanguishene and the surrounding waters, Laurin’s latest body of work draws from a family photo archive of over 3,000 images inherited in 2014. These photographs sparked an investigation into how memory, storytelling, and photography shape identity across generations.
Guests are invited to experience this thoughtful and deeply personal exhibition while hearing from the artist about the inspirations and stories behind the work. Celebrate the opening with an evening of art, reflection, and community.
