One Jazz Presents On The Corner at The Mildmay
The office for national statistics has just announced that vinyl is back in the “inflation basket” for the first time in more than 30 years. It replaces Guinness and rotisserie chicken. So it’s a good time to launch a vinyl night at the Mildmay. Come and join us for a night of quality jazz ( and maybe a touch of rare soul) on record and some live music too. The night is hosted by Jez Nelson, long-time jazz presenter and DJ with the BBC, Jazz FM and now One Jazz and Robin Brunson from London’s leading supplier of new and vintage HiFi and vinyl. We’ll be joined by guest DJs and we’ve have some live Jazz too. This is the first of what we hope will he a monthly celebration of jazz and vinyl!

Jez Nelson has been playing jazz and hosting live music on the radio and in clubs for nearly 40 years. He’s currently a presenter on Jazz FM and hosts Jazz In The Round. He’s about to launch new online radio station One Jazz with Chris Phillips. He also founded production company Somethin’ Else.

Robin Brunson is part of the team at Audio Gold, London’s Aladdins cave of new and vintage HiFi and vinyl, a shop that has highly influenced London's now burgeoning ‘HiFi soundystem’ and ‘listening bar’ scene. The shop will be providing a super HiFi sound system featuring vintage Tannoy speakers and valve based amplification. Robin was also half of Hexstatic, former Ninja Tune AV sampling stalwarts. 

Born and bred South London, Lunechild’s musical taste reflects the diversity of her origin. Firmly rooted in sample culture, her interests cover the rich interconnection between jazz, jungle, and hip-hop. But tonight she’ll be playing strictly jazz!

Sinck Trio are a newly formed group of friends from Guildhall School of Music featuring Frank Hawkes, Eliot Whitehouse and Jack Murray who also plays live with upcoming bands Oreglo and his own project Big Massive.
