Join legendary film editor, director, writer and sound designer Walter Murch for a rare afternoon exploring six decades of cinema and the creative life behind some of its most extraordinary films.

From The Godfather trilogy and Apocalypse Now to American Graffiti, The English Patient and The Talented Mr Ripley, Murch has helped shape the way we see and hear movies. A pioneer of modern film sound and editing, his work has brought some of cinema's most memorable moments to life.

This special event begins with an audio-visual presentation from Walter, followed by a screening of one of the films from his remarkable career. After a short interval, Walter will return for an in-depth conversation with our host, reflecting on his life in film, his creative process and the ideas explored in his highly acclaimed new book, Suddenly Something Clicked.

Expect stories from the cutting room, reflections on six decades of cinematic history and a fascinating insight into what makes great films great.

A book stall will be available on the day, with copies of Suddenly Something Clicked available to buy.
