Water - Leonardo da Vinci called it 'the blood of the planet'. A group of people emerges from the water. They try to resist the current of the river and the stream of people in the city, but have to surrender to the flow and are washed ashore.
On the shore, the stranded seek for hold and refuge. In the course of the film ‘against or with the flow', ‘resistance and devotion’ manifest as a primal instinct, as a survival strategy.
We are all on the same bus (Portugal)
Director - Nuno Serrão
Dance Credit - Luis Daio
2019
2:00
We are all on the same bus, but some of us are more awake than others. If we consider Einstein's space-time concept, we end up with an object where everything that happened and everything that will happen, is understood inside. Through it, we are driven by a vehicle, let's call a bus, completely autonomous, that goes in a single direction, to the front, and has a single window, the rear.
Circus Movements (Ethiopia)
Director - Lukas Berger, Mário Gajo de Carvalho
Dance Credit - Circus Debere Berhan
2019
15:00 minutes
Circus acts surrounded by beautiful Ethiopian landscapes and music, that has its place in music history.
CHAOTIC (Indonesia)
Director - Densiel Prisma Yanti Lebang
Dance Credit - Ferry Lesar, Try Anggara
2020
5:14 Minutes
The character of chaos in an urban context is a contestation of the capital. Temporality operates in a chaotic framework not only through the relationship between body and material but also through the relationship between body and space (spatial), and by distance. The issue of materiality does not only talk about objectivity but can reveal other things through physical relations and also spatial relationships. Space influences events and also gives meaning.
My Heart, My Traveler (United States)
Director - Julia Zanin de Paula
Dance Credit - Agnes Artych
2020
3:00 minutes
Mere Dil Mere Musaafir (My Heart, My Traveler) is a visual expression of the unknown through the eyes of different cultures and languages.
CASA (Cuba)
Director - Henry Labrada Rodriguez
Dance Credit - Henry Labrada Rodriguez
2020
9:21 minutes
With the honorable collaboration of Adnan Jerbi as a cinematographer and Lisbet Pérez Roldán as a visual artist (body art), CASA sets out to experiment with various forms. Through a multidisciplinary line combining plastic arts, dance, music and film, I aim to dive into the contemporary situation of Cuban society. CASA means home and it also responds to recent protests led by young Cuban intellectuals and artists at the doors of the Ministry of Culture in Havana, demanding freedom of expression.
