Six years ago, there was a huge shift in how and where people work – with predictions of doom for city centres. But walk around Manchester today and it doesn’t feel like that’s happened. So how are businesses adapting, what are workers pushing for, and what does it mean for the newly elected council trying to plan what gets built here?
We’ve got a great panel of industry experts and academics together to try and answer these questions:
Vaughan Allen: heads up CityCo and has deep insight into Manchester city centre's evolution. From managing the city’s Business Improvement District to the pub and club network, his experience is vast and varied.
Rebecca Cox: Managing Director of Colony, one of Manchester’s leading flexible workspace operators. Rebecca leads the business across strategy, operations, and growth and has played a key role in shaping Colony’s expansion across the city.
Professor Jesse Matheson: whose research focuses on how the rise in working from home has changed cities – from the geography of economic activity to crime. His work has made influential contributions to public policy and debate.
