Dalby-Costanza-Yakushev Trio ~ Chamber Music Marin
Sun Feb 23, 2025 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Mt. Tamalpais United Methodist Church, 94941
Description
Our audience is familiar with these outstanding musicians but not in this configuration. Owen Dalby and Christopher Costanza are violinist and cellist with the St. Lawrence String Quartet. This season they will team up with pianist Ilya Yakushev on a bravura program.
Owen Dalby received early training with Anne Crowden at the Crowden School and bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Yale University where he studied with Syoko Aki. With his wife, violist Meena Bhasin, Owen is co-Artistic Director of Noe Music, a neighborhood chamber music series in San Francisco.
For over three decades cellist Christopher Costanza has enjoyed a varied and exciting career as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. "Throughout my musical life, I have been artistically inspired by brilliant, iconic mentors. As I teach, I recall and reinterpret their unique guidance and share ideas that were shaped by so many generous musicians, ideas that continue to be reimagined through my own thoughts, musical explorations, and experiences."
Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev, with many awards and honors to his credit, continues to astound and mesmerize audiences at major venues on three continents. Mr. Yakushev attended the Rimsky-Korsakov College of Music in his native St. Petersburg, Russia, and subsequently came to New York City to attend Mannes College of Music where he studied with legendary pianist Vladimir Feltsman.
