'I have had a most rare vision. I had a dream, past the wit of man to say what dream it was… The eye of man hath not heard, the ear of man hath not seen, man's hand is not able to taste, his tongue to conceive, nor his heart to report, what my dream was.'
William Shakespeare
Join us on the evening of the Midsummer Solstice for a special evening of new writing - both poetry and short fiction - that explores the theme of A Dream for Midsummer.
You'll hear a selection of readings from local poets and story-writers who've been invited to create new pieces especially for the occasion. Will they modernise or subvert Shakespeare? Will they hymn MIdsummer's namesake Boulevard or the dreams and visions that lead to the city we now live in? Or will things take an apocalyptic turn?
There's only one way to find out...
