Mindfulness for Every Mind: Adaptive Approaches for Neurodivergent Minds

This four-week class series is designed with neurodivergent folks in mind - including people with ADHD, autism, learning differences, sensory sensitivities, and other forms of neurodiversity. This virtual class will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 12-1pmPT on:

  • Wednesday, October 21st, 12-1pmPT
  • Wednesday, October 28th, 12-1pmPT
  • Wednesday, November 4th, 12-1pmPT
  • Wednesday, November 18th, 12-1pmPT (no class on Veteran's Day)

Mindfulness isn’t made for just one kind of mind. If you tend to tell yourself meditation isn’t for you, you are not alone! Thankfully there is no “right way” to meditate - it is a creative, evolving practice that is unique to each of us. You can build the meditation and mindfulness practice that is right for you. Whether or not you are neurotypical or have found it difficult to practice in a more traditional ways, this four-week class you will give you the opportunity to:

  • Encounter and embrace your beautiful (sometimes messy) mind, releasing beliefs that get in the way of you having a beneficial mindfulness practice.
  • Find fun and creative ways to support you at this moment in your life.
  • Create compassionate and also fierce ways to preserve a regular practice (and the capacity for an easeful return when you do drift away from it).
  • Learn or revisit the essentials of mindfulness with an emphasis on flexibility and adaptation of the principles of the practice.

This class includes supportive meditation practices and is appropriate for anyone at any point along their exploration of mindfulness and meditation. Together, we will explore flexible, practical approaches to mindfulness that honor the many ways our minds work. Everyone is welcome, especially those who have felt that traditional meditation wasn't designed for them.
