Would you like to confidently facilitate groups? Do you see the need for a support group or want to encourage connection and community within your workshops? This training will give you the skills to manage group dynamics using a trauma-informed approach.
For those wanting to run a talking circle or support group, this experiential training will teach you about:
- The arc of a circle
- Key components to create a safe container
- Strategies around managing talking and sharing
- How to use Listening Partnerships
- Journaling and somatic practices to increase inclusion and comfort in the group setting
- 'Clean Language' to support participants feeling heard.
Please note this is not training in group therapy.

Tessa Venuti Sanderson, PhD, is the co-author of Circle Holding: A Practical Guide for Facilitating Talking Circles and the co-host of Circle Holding podcast, interviewing diverse group facilitators. She has run a women's circle for 10.5 years and also runs talking circles for new mums, tweens and teens, those in perimenopause, and yoga teachers. Tessa runs a monthly Reflective Professional Circle and teaches somatic practices on the Holistic Human Counselling training. She hosts an annual 'Art of Holding Space' retreat in October. She is a specialist in Yoga for Trauma and is the author of nine books.
