EL SUENO EXISTE FESTIVAL 2026
Nestled in the heart of Mid-Wales, El Sueño Existe festival is inspired by the
life, music and example of Victor Jara. This visionary musician and
theatre director was part of the New Song movement in Salvador Allende’s
Chile.
Borrowing from that political vision, the festival is a forum
for cultural expression, social justice and human rights. Through music,
dance, theatre, poetry and political debate it casts a vibrant light on
the work of progressive political and environmental movements
throughout Latin America and closer to home.
Our chosen themes for 2026 are Venezuela and Young People, at a time when
progressive movements and governments are under attack throughout Latin
America. Come and join us in a celebration of today’s cultural, political and
environmental struggles to create the better world we all know is
possible.
This biennial festival, which began in 2005, is family friendly, including a children's activity programme. Please view this year's festival webpage here .
Ticket prices Under 13's come FREE!
As with every year we have tried to keep the ticket prices reasonable. However if you feel you cannot afford the cost, you could consider joining us as a volunteer. If you would like to apply to volunteer with us please complete the volunteer form on our festival website.
Festival Site Accommodation
Camping is officially available Friday night and Saturday night only. The price of the camping applies to the pitch so you do not need to buy a camping ticket for each person. There is a car parking area next to the campsite, and a hard standing car park for camper vans. Please note that there may not be space for awnings if we get the full quota of 25 camper vans. The toilet and shower block will be available to campers to use throughout the weekend.
For those who need to arrive early and camp on Thursday night this would be at your own risk. If you do wish to do this please contact us at elsuenoexiste19@gmail.com to let us know well in advance.
Volunteers & Volunteer Camping options
Please note that free volunteer camping is only available to registered volunteers. If you would like to volunteer please complete the volunteer form on our festival website.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome at the festival although they cannot be allowed on the camping field as this is a condition of our hire of the field.
Third Party Accommodation
You can also park up your campervan overnight in the Council car park on Heol Maengwyn, near the festival site, in Machynlleth town centre. You need to buy an all-day ticket which then entitles you to stay overnight (more information here).
