WaterSongs : The Ripple Effect (A Bridges/Puentes Series Project with Border CrosSing)
Sun Oct 13, 2024 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
South High School Auditorium, 55407
Description
Join the Minnesota Chorale and Border CrosSing as we continue our Bridges/Puentes series under the baton of Dr. Shekela Wanyama as she explores how music and our impact on the earth intersect.
Water is an endangered resource, even in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Join community artists, elders, and culture bearers for an intergenerational exchange of music and ideas about how we can care for one of our most precious resources. The concert includes the regional premiere of Reena Esmail’s Malhaar: Requiem for Water, a work for Hindustani vocalist, tabla, Western classical percussion, and chorus. Featuring Pooja Goswami Pavan, A. Pavan, Eri Isomura, Activist, Author and Water Walker Sharon Day, the Ikidowin Youth Theater Ensemble, students from Minneapolis South High School, Border Crossing, and the Minnesota Chorale.
Pay What You Can
We are committed to making sure that our concerts are accessible to everyone. No one will ever be turned away from a concert because of a lack of funds! You can purchase tickets online for all Puentes concerts at a fixed price. Tickets are available at the door the day of the event at pay-what-you-can pricing, with a suggested price. Our suggested ticket prices aren’t based on what it costs to produce a concert (that would be much more), they are a starting point to choose your price. For some people, $30 is a lot of money; for others, $3 is a lot. We’re counting on you to let us know what is right for you. If you can afford it, consider paying more to help cover those who can’t.
