What is it?
Mapathons are events where a bunch of people get together to map for impact. This means looking closely at satellite imagery on laptops to carefully draw objects that can be seen --> like buildings or roads. This new data can then be used by humanitarian organizations to support their operations. Given this event is part of London Climate Week our mapping will of course have a climate focus!
Where will we be mapping?
We will be working on high-priority projects releated to climate - TBC closer to date!
What do I need?
Bring a fully charged laptop, a mouse and enthusiasm (a mouse is not absolutely necessary but it makes mapping much faster, and we cannot guarantee a spare power outlet).
Where is it?
UCL, Gower Street, Chadwick Building Room G08, London WC1E 6BT
