Global Majority Leadership Weekend - Men of Color
Global Majority Leadership Weekend - Men of Color
For the first time in Nordic history, ManKind Project Nordic is creating a dedicated leadership weekend for Men of Color.
This is a separate event within the MKP framework, created to offer a space where men with lived experiences connected to migration, minority identity, cultural duality and systemic exclusion can meet each other in honesty, brotherhood and leadership development.
The weekend is rooted in the same internationally recognized methodology used within MKP communities around the world through NWTA processes and men’s groups. Similar initiatives for Men of Color already exist in the UK, France and the United States, where these spaces have become powerful platforms for healing, responsibility, emotional maturity and leadership.
The methods and principles behind this work are also reflected in organizations and movements such as Inside Circle and All Kings in the United States, both known for their work around transformation, accountability, emotional awareness and healthy masculinity among men from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
But what actually happens during the weekend?
Participants enter into an intensive and structured group experience together with other men. Through guided processes, physical exercises, reflection, storytelling, challenge, ritual, emotional work and honest conversations, participants are invited to explore how they relate to themselves, other men, leadership, family, responsibility and the wider world around them.
The work is grounded in experiential learning. Rather than sitting and listening to lectures, participants actively engage in exercises and processes designed to strengthen self-awareness, emotional presence, communication and personal accountability.
Throughout the weekend, men are encouraged to move beyond social masks, survival strategies and isolation. Many participants describe the experience as one of the first times they have felt fully seen and understood by other men with similar lived experiences.
For many Men of Color in the Nordic countries, there is often a lived tension between different worlds, expectations and identities. Questions around belonging, masculinity, culture, fatherhood, vulnerability, anger, success and silence are often carried alone.
For ManKind Project Nordic, this is both a historic milestone and a natural next step in the organization's continued work with men’s development, leadership and community building in the Nordic region. We believe that when men are given the opportunity to meet each other beyond masks, roles and stereotypes, something profound becomes possible.
As the weekend approaches you will get information about what to bring and not to bring and other things for your preparation for this training. We encourage public transport or ride sharing and we will do our bit to help you organize this.
The leadership weekend starts on Friday afternoon at 17.00 (exact) and ends on Sunday afternoon around 14.00. This training is held in English.
If you are currently dealing with issues such as active substance addiction, suicidal tendencies, or other serious mental health conditions, this training might not be suitable for you at this time. Although some physical conditions might be a concern, countless men with physical limitations have completed this training.
If you have any serious health concerns, seek the opinion of a healthcare professional before you come to the training.
