Be a better board member: Modern Grantmaking training for trustees of funding organisations - Online

Are you a board member of a grantmaking organisation who'd like to grow your own skills and confidence? Our newest online workshop is just for you. Join us for a pair of linked after-work online sessions and learn what it means to be a board member who does Modern Grantmaking.

Modern Grantmaking is not one simple trick. It is underpinned by a set of clear values and tangible practices. By the end of the course, participants will:

• Learn the five values and core practices of Modern Grantmaking, as well as how these can be applied directly to the work of a funder trustee

• Understand the key skills and mindset required to be a Modern Grantmaking trustee

• Identify topics that every trust or foundation board should engage with

• Develop a practical action plan to help embed learning further.

What to expect

The two workshops will be facilitated by Gemma and Tom. There will be some small group work involved in both. Time commitment is approximately three hours overall with some self-directed learning optional in between Workshop 1 and Workshop 2. 

Please note that this course will be delivered over Zoom. We will share an Info Pack for participants in advance and subsequent meeting invites that will provide joining instructions. These instructions are not available on TicketTailor.

Who should attend

These workshops are for anyone working as a trustee or board member within any kind of grantmaking organisation, whether this be private, government, corporate or community foundation.

Prior Knowledge – We have designed this course so that people who have just become a trust or foundation trustee as well as those with years of experience will be able to learn and be supported to apply this learning to real-world opportunities and challenges.

Refunds Policy

Cancellations made seven or more days before the workshop will receive 100% refunds. Cancellation seven or fewer days before the workshop are not eligible for refunds.
