Coasts in Mind talk at Poole Library
Our changing coastlines reflect our changing lives. Over the last 100 years Poole Harbour has undergone huge shifts in its industry, economy and ecology, all combining to influence and shape the communities that live on its shores. Coasts In Mind is a new project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund that aims to map those changes using the memories, archives and experiences of the people who live in and around the Harbour area. The project aims to gather as many photographs, postcards, maps, memories and stories as we can over the next three years, mapping them for all to see, share and learn from to preserve the rich heritage of Poole Harbour.
If you’re interested to learn more about the project and how to get involved, then please come along to our FREE talk and meet the team. We’ll be starting to collect articles for our community archive on the day, so we encourage you to bring along a memory of life on the harbour, be it a photograph, old postcard or story to share, we’d love to hear it and look forward to meeting you.
If you have any questions about Coasts In Mind, would like to find out more about the project or have some info you’d like to share, please contact Oliver and Hazel at coastsinmind@mola.org.uk
