Hurricane of 1938 Walking Tour
In September 1938, the Great New England Hurricane hit the northeast causing widespread damage, injuries and over 600 deaths. Peterborough was particularly hard hit with high winds, flooding, and a downtown fire. On this walking tour, we will walk through the sites impacted by the storm and hear the dramatic story of the day the town was visited by wind, water and fire.
