Description
Our Relationship With Weather
A Talk About The Spiritual Roots of Extreme Weather
Nature is speaking to us in many strong ways, with drought, fires, winds and floods…
…trying to get our attention.
How did we get here? How do we find our way back to a healthy relationship with the sacred waters that fall from the sky?
Join us for a virtual circle to learn about the time-honored relationships between humans and the Weather Spirits and how we can rebuild our relationship with them to foster more balance in the world.
I’ll share stories from my 17 years experience as a Granicera (weather worker), and a ceremony leader and healer in the Nahua indigenous tradition of central Mexico.
You’ll gain insight about how to deepen your relationship with the Weather Forces, we’ll do a guided Nature connection meditation and there will be time for sharing and Q&A.
You may appreciate this offering if:
You’re deeply concerned about climate change.
You’re open to having a relationship of reciprocity with Nature.
You’re drawn to indigenous ways of living.
You love spending time in Nature.
Feedback from a participant of this event..
“Thank you for your clear, articulate presentation last night. I’m touched by the work you do and am letting your words & concepts sink into my body-mind. The Nahua worldview is so different from our materialistic western conditioning ... the idea of reciprocity and relationship ... I love the way you compared it to our human relationships that require our constant care and attention, as well as a continual exchange of giving and receiving.”~Jane Karp

About Megan Montero: A series of unusual experiences and an extraordinary dream led Megan to have a spiritual divination in 2006. That divination revealed she was being called by the Weather Spirits to be a Granicera or Weather Worker in the Nahua indigenous tradition of central Mexico.
Megan was initiated into this ancient living tradition as a Granicera in 2007, in Nepolpuolco, Mexico by Don David Wiley, the successor to the late Don Lucio Campos Elizalde. You can learn more about the Nahua Weather Working Lineage of Don Lucio Campos by watching this short documentary film.
She is also a Tepahtiani or Traditional Healer in the Nahua Tradition. After completing an ancient process of apprenticeship and building relationships with sacred medicine sites in Mexico through pilgrimage, she went through an initiatory process to become a Tepahtiani. In 2021 she began offering this ancient form of spiritual healing where she lives in Santa Cruz, California.
Megan has been leading semi-annual community rain ceremonies in Santa Cruz (since 2015) and in Santa Monica (since 2017) to help people re-establish a balanced relationship with the Weather Spirits and all of Nature. She travels to Mexico twice a year to deepen her ritual experience and training in this time-honored tradition. You can learn more about Megan and her work at monterohealingarts.com
