MOOKORE sounding

Sat 17 Oct 2026 13:00 - 17:00 BAK Basecamp, 3512 TG

MOOKORE is not a dance class. It is not therapy. It is an invitation to soften, sense, and remember that your body already knows how to move and feel.

MOOKORE offers a gentle, inclusive space to arrive in your body, just as you are. If you have a body and a pulse, you’re already enough. Through movement, breath, voice, and sound, we slow down and listen inward, exploring sensation rather than shape, feeling rather than form. The focus is not on how the body looks, but on what it feels like to be inside it.

The practice is rooted in somatic presence and non-verbal exploration. We move and sound alone and together, sometimes in stillness, sometimes in motion, allowing curiosity to lead, instead of judgment. Intimacy emerges not through words or explanations, but through shared presence, being with yourself, and being with others.

This fall, each MOOKORE session will focus on one of the three core elements: movement, sound or connection. Although all three will remain present, each session will offer a deeper exploration of one particular aspect.

MOOKORE Sounding

This session explores the sounds the body can make, including vocal sounds and sounds created through the body’s interaction with its surroundings. Movement will remain a part of the practice, but the workshop will contain more specific exercises inviting participants to sound and listen.

MOOKORE was initiated by Nina Victoria van der Blonk and Deren Sanıvar and grew out of a desire to step away from performative movement spaces. What began as choreographic research has transformed into an open, accessible practice for anyone longing to feel more at home in their body, and more connected in an increasingly disconnected world.
