- Format of the event: The session will be a mix of walking and supported connection time, the balance of these dependant on weather, group size and landscape. Prior to the session there will be a briefing on health and safety. When pausing for connection facilitators will support groups to follow 2 households with maximum 4 people.
- Facilitators have basic first aid skills including mental health first aid.
- Children: No unaccompanied under 12s, families welcome. Wherever possible we will have appropriate activities that can include children.
- Dogs: During booking we will ask about dogs to ensure that those nervous of dogs can be supported as well as those who prefer the support of a four legged friend. If dogs do join our walk then they are the responsibility of their owner and must be kept on a lead.
This project is supported and funded by: Knowledge is Power programme, hosted by SCDC and Poverty Alliance.
IMPORTANT Walker Agreement!
By taking part in the walk, you are agreeing the following:
1. I won’t take part in the walk if I should be self-isolating, have been overseas to a country requiring quarantine in the past 14 days or am displaying symptoms that could be signs of the Coronavirus (according to Scottish Government’s most recent guidance).
2. I’ll provide my contact details for the purpose of being contacted through the Track and Trace system if required.
3. I’ll only walk if I am fit enough, and it’s up to me to assess if I can do the Health Walk safely.
4. If I have any concerns about my ability to participate in the walk, I’ll talk to a Walk Leader or a health professional.
5. I’ll keep at least 2 metres away from other walkers and Walk Leaders at all times (unless we are from the same household).
6. I’ll cover my nose and mouth if I need to cough or sneeze and will put used tissues in a bin.
7. I’ll try to avoid touching my face with my hands, and try to avoid touching gates, handrails or public benches during the walk.
8. I’ll use hand gel or wash my hands as soon as I get home.
9. I reserve the right to wear a mask or face covering if I’m concerned about maintaining a 2 metre distance from others and feel safer doing so.
10. I’ll be mindful of other members of the public during the walk and stand to the side to maintain physical distance and let them pass if necessary.
11. I’ll tell a Walk Leader if I feel unwell while out on a walk or if I am leaving the walk before it has ended.
12. If I develop Coronavirus symptoms following the walk, I’ll notify Test and Protect teams of my contact with the group and pass on details of the Project Coordinator.
13. I understand that I come on this Health Walk at my own risk.
14. Finally, as walkers and Walk Leaders we agree to respect each other.
You will be asked to confirm you agree to this during the checkout questions!

FAQs:
What makes Moray Wellbeing Hub courses different?
Real life experiences: We believe in harnessing the power of life experiences, taking what can be challenging and abstract concepts and make it more 'real', practically useful and easier to relate to for participants. Wherever possible our courses are delivered by peer-trainers, people who know the approaches and experiences first hand from their own life.
Keeping it local: Moray has a wealth of support and education organisations in wellbeing. Our courses are delivered for the benefit of the Moray community and therefore endeavour to help our participants build sustainable links beyond any course; resources they can signpost to and access in Moray. Wherever possible we will use local trainers, venues and resources, as well as promote and deliver our courses in mutual partnership with all sizes of local organisations.
