More Than Small Talk: Dinner with Strangers
Dinner with Strangers
An evening of slow flavors and real connection
Thursday, October 29 · 6:00–8:00 PM · Fuego Nomada, Puerto Vallarta 20 seats · 1,200 pesos Includes a three-course chef's menu, a welcome mocktail, and a fully hosted evening of connection.
When was the last time you really tasted your food?
Not scrolled through it, rushed it, or half-noticed it between conversations. Actually tasted it: the crackle of a crisp shell, the cool rush of mint, the slow warmth of curry rising as you breathe in.
And when was the last time you really saw the person across the table from you?
This is not a room full of strangers making polite small talk over a meal. It's a curated evening of presence, where every course is an invitation to slow down and notice: the flavors on your plate, the stories around you, and the people you came in not knowing.
Come solo (most people do), whether you're new to Vallarta, a longtime local, or simply craving a dinner that feels like more than dinner.
The Evening:
You'll be welcomed with a signature mocktail and a set of conversation cards already waiting at your seat, so the connection begins before the first bite.
Each course comes with its own small ritual, designed to bring you into your senses and closer to the people beside you. You'll raise a toast, discover your playful side, and share the memories certain flavors bring back.
And we're saving the final moment of the night as a surprise, but it's the part we think you'll remember most.
The Menu:
Created by Chef Ignacio, who opened Fuego Nomada to bring Vallarta something it had never tasted before: flavors inspired by Asia, India and Turkey that you won't find anywhere else in town.
First course: Samosa Indian-style crispy wontons filled with spiced potato and garam masala, served with refreshing mint sauce and a drizzle of tamarind.
Second course: Avocado Salad Avocado, grilled romaine heart, smoked bacon, cherry tomatoes and toasted almonds with a creamy bacon vinaigrette.
Third course: choose one Huachinango Curry Verde. Red snapper fillet in green curry with jasmine rice, baby eggplant, coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, hot pepper and Thai basil. (Available vegetarian.) Moussaka. Greek-style layers of ground meat, potato, eggplant, mozzarella, béchamel and parmesan.
The Fine Print:
- Alcohol-free evening. A welcome mocktail is included, and additional mocktails are available to purchase throughout the night.
- Phone-free. This is two hours just for you, so phones stay away.
- Dietary needs: vegetarian options are available. You'll choose your main course, and whether you'd like it vegetarian, at checkout. No other substitutions are available for this event.
- Gratuity is not included. Please bring cash for our server. We suggest 120–240 pesos for your dinner (10–20%), plus a tip on any additional mocktails you order.
- Tickets are non-refundable but transferable. If you can't make it, send a friend in your place.
- Seating is limited to 20 guests, so the evening stays intimate.
- The evening is hosted in English.
Your Host:
Erin founded More Than Small Talk to bring people back to the table, literally. In a world of one-way conversations on our phones, her events help you get past "What do you do?" to what makes someone tick, in spaces where connection, not alcohol, is the main attraction.
Come hungry. Come curious. Leave with a fuller heart, and a few new names you'll want to remember.
Reserve one of 20 seats. Ticket sales close Wednesday, October 28 at noon so Chef Ignacio can prepare your meal.
