Achieving Your Multimodal Mode Share Goals
October 7–8, 2026 | Vancouver, British Columbia
1.5 Days | In-Person
About This Masterclass
How do you grow adoption and achieve your multimodal mode share goals? That's the question at the heart of this practice-focused masterclass from movmi Academy.
Vancouver is one of the most mature shared mobility ecosystems in North America — home to two successful multi-city carshare services, regional shared mobility spanning 23 municipalities, and over 20 years of TDM policy evolution. It's the ideal living lab for this kind of learning.
Over 1.5 days, you'll move through site visits, strategic workshops, and real-world case studies on integration, multimodal ecosystems, and what it actually takes to move past pilot mode. You'll leave with a replication toolkit built for your own city.
Program Schedule
Module 1 — Strategy & System Design
Design the system, then build your own roadmap to launch.
- Map how mobility decisions work across city, operator, transit, developer, and tech — and where integration actually breaks
- How to reach a wider member base? Look at different modal use cases e.g. active transportation, transit and elements that are used by the dominant modeshare (private auto) users e.g. EV charging and parking.
- Get working on the integration layer - infrastructure and user experience
- Learn from real integration case studies across Europe and North America — the wins, and the ones that stalled
- Workshop: build your own version, prioritize ruthlessly, and land on an MVP roadmap
Module 2 — The Built Environment
Get out of the room and see how it works on the sidewalk.
Head into the field to see shared mobility integrated in the real world — downtown mobility hubs and residential buildings with built-in carshare
Observe what makes a hub feel safe, inviting, and used — versus ignored
See how wayfinding, approach, and first impressions shape whether people adopt
Turn structured observation into evidence you'll carry into Module 3
Module 3 — Adoption & Activation
Activate your roadmap and move people, not just infrastructure.
Learn communications best practices for growing multimodal adoption
Work through a behaviour-change framework — why and how people adopt new habits
Use it as the backbone for designing your own communications approach
Align city, operator, and transit around a shared, adoption-targeted message
What You'll Leave With
A system map and feasibility read of your own context
A prioritized MVP roadmap you can realistically launch
A real-world feel for what good integration should look, feel, and work like
An adoption-targeted communications strategy
Your completed City-Region Mobility Plan — all three, assembled into one
Who This Is For
Transportation authorities (local and regional), shared mobility operators, transit agencies, city and regional planners, and mobility-tech teams working on integration. Tables are seated cross-functionally — you'll work alongside the same mix of players you need to align with in the real world.

Why Vancouver
Vancouver is where shared mobility in Canada grew up. With Modo and Evo Carshare operating across 23 municipalities, a regional ecosystem that includes Translink, Mobi, Lime, Evolve e-bike share, and more, and over two decades of developer-funded mobility built into new developments — it's one of the most instructive cities in the world for this kind of learning.
Come see it firsthand. Then take it home.
