Mr. Mambo's Salsa Bachata Social was founded in 2005 by Tommy Smith aka Mr. Mambo in Washington, DC.  It holds the distinction of being the longest running Latin Dance Social in the DMV. Historically, the social is scheduled every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. The social was hosted by Tommy Smith and his daughter, Tanya J. Smith for the past 18 years until Mr. Mambo's passing June 13, 2022. Tanya has continued organizing the social primarily at The Hollywood Ballroom when available and now at DC Dance Loft on 14 as a back-up venue. 

The Social incorporates classes for all levels of dancers, social dancing, and Birthday dances. Once a month, special events are scheduled with Dress themes and performances by local and nationally known Pros, Dance Teams, and International Artists. 

Our events are inclusive and welcomes diverse audiences. We focus on a friendly vibe for all levels of dancers. We don't focus on ON1/ON2/ON3- We focus on good technique and ON FUN on the Dance floor!
