What we do each month

Each month, with qualified scholars and teachers, we try to do one simple thing. We connect scripture to the real work of becoming Muslim. We look at the changes, the questions, the family dynamics, and the road ahead.  We make protected time for those who have become Muslim and their companions to learn and reflect on their unique position. Bring a friend or a family member, Muslim or not. No previous study required. 🕊️

The Prophet’s Migration: From Makkah to Medina

When the Prophet (ﷺ) and his early companions faced unbearable pressure in Makkah, they made a choice. They undertook the Hijrah. They took a quiet, perilous journey through the desert toward Medina, leaving behind everything they knew. They stepped into the unknown with complete trust that Allah would provide a home rooted in safety and mutual care.

This month, as we enter the new Hijri year, we reflect on this moment. We will look at what the Hijrah teaches us about navigating resistance and trusting God in seasons of transition. We will talk about the hard work of finding our own sanctuary.

Your teacher this month

We are grateful to have Ustad Yasrab Shah leading our reflection. He is an expert in the Arabic language. He pursued traditional Islamic studies in Mauritania and has sat with scholars from Yemen and Syria. Alongside his studies, he carries nearly two decades of experience in humanitarian relief work. He understands how to take sacred history and make it useful for the heart and the community.
