Half Day Glass On Glass Mosaic Workshop
Half Day Glass On Glass Mosaic Workshop
This workshop offers a fun and engaging experience where you'll learn to create stunning glass-on-glass mosaics. Using vibrant stained glass, you'll design and craft a framed mini mosaic, perfect for displaying on a sunny windowsill. Stained glass is a captivating material, and mosaics let you blend a variety of colors, hues, and textures into a single piece. You can choose from a range of our designs and the mosaic-making process allows you to add your own creative touch through colour choices and glass arrangement. Alternatively, if you would like to design your own mosaic, let me know and I will send you a template beforehand.

We will first learn all the techniques required to make a beautiful gallery-worthy mosaic. You will spend the rest of the afternoon putting those techniques into action by creating your own mini mosaic. We have a vast selection of beautiful glass for you to choose from as well as some other elements you can incorporate such as millefiori, glass nuggets and beads. You will then grout, polish and frame your finished piece.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and all necessary tools, safety equipment and materials are provided.

The workshop takes place in our dedicated Project Space at the picturesque Parndon Mill, a surprising little countryside oasis just 15 minutes walk from Harlow Station. Harlow, Essex. Regular trains to Harlow leave from Liverpool Street Station in Central London. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available and I will of course bring some biscuits for us all!
Your tutor: my name is Muna and I am a glass addict! I have learnt many different glass techniques and I love teaching workshops and sharing the skills that I have acquired over the last 15 years. You can find out a bit more about me and see some of my work at https://www.munazuberi.co.uk/

Accessibility
The class takes place in the Project Space at Parndon Mill. The room is accessed via a short but quite steep ramp. The room itself is all on one level. The toilet in the project space is accessed via a slightly narrow door and has two steps down to the toilet and hand basin. There is a fully accessible toilet in a separate building about 20 meters away from the project space. All instructions in the class are given verbally and demonstrated physically. There are also written instructions available for all participants. You can ask for more information or clarification at any time!
In this class we will be cutting glass with mosaic nippers. You do need a certain amount of strength in your hands to use the nippers. I would compare it to using pruning shears on a woody stem (I hope that gives you an idea!).
Please let me know if you have any other questions about accessibility - email me: info@munazuberi.co.uk. I am keen to make my classes as accessible as possible and welcome any feedback or questions you might have.
