Adapting to Change: Social Care - Part One

The Adapting to Change peer support group is a warm, welcoming space for people living with muscular dystrophy to learn from each other’s experiences.

The group is led by peers, and a chance to share stories, ask questions, offer encouragement, and talk honestly about the changes life with muscular dystrophy can bring.

Do you access Social Care? What has your experience been? Are you looking for advice for upcoming access?

At this session, we will be sharing the good, the bad and the ugly, and learning from each other’s varied experiences.

Leanne and Mark, who both use the Centre, will help kick off the discussion.

How it works

Each topic is explored in two parts.

Part One: Hybrid peer discussion
Join us in person at our Coventry Centre, or online via Zoom, for a 90-minute peer discussion on the topic.

The Social Care session will take place on Wednesday 12 August, 4.30–6pm.

If you join online, you will be joining the same discussion by Zoom, while others are sat together in the room at the Centre.

After the in-person session, there may be the option to go for food nearby. This will be confirmed nearer the time.

Part Two: Online follow-up
The online follow-up session will take place on Wednesday 9 September, 6–7pm. You can sign up to attend with this link: https://bit.ly/mdsc-atc-sep

This is a chance to come back together, ask further questions, and share any thoughts that have come up since the first discussion.

You are very welcome to attend the online follow-up even if you were not able to attend the first session.

You can attend either session, or both.

How to join

For the first session, you can choose to attend in person at our Coventry HQ or join online via Zoom.

You will receive an email confirmation with your ticket. If you are joining online, your confirmation email will include the Zoom link. We will also send a reminder closer to the time.
