eLearning Course Details
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Roadmap is designed to help museums using it to:
· Grow in self-awareness and to reflect on equality, diversity, and inclusion in their setting.
· Identify where the evidence shows that action is needed, in line with mission, vision and goals.
· Set your ‘direction of travel’ and revisit, review and re-set it regularly.
Time: You can complete the eLearning course anytime, as soon as you receive the link from the MD North team.
Format: online, approx. 45 minutes, pre-booking required
This eLearning will help you understand some of the steps your museum needs to take to become a more inclusive organisation. By completing all six steps in the journey, you will develop your knowledge and understanding of how to embed inclusive practices within your museum to effect positive change. In turn, you will better understand your museum and its ability to make a difference.
Who is the eLearning for?
This eLearning is for staff and volunteers, including trustees of museum and heritage organisations who already understand:
· the core concepts of equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) · the Equality Act 2010
· protected characteristics and wider characteristics beyond this e.g. socio-economic status, and are looking to take their next steps to welcome a wider range of people to their museum.
What will you learn?
You will learn about:
· Accessibility within your museum
· Raising leaders’ awareness and confidence
· Developing your EDI statement, policy and action plan
· Developing inclusive recruitment and induction practices
· Evaluating your museum against its EDI ambitions
· Embedding EDI practices and impact elsewhere in your museum
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Roadmap was developed by Museum Development South West (MDSW) working with expert consultants in EDI, with lived experience, thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England.
