This session will offer a basic overview of the Spectrum Cataloguing procedure.

It will cover: 

  • How the procedure relates to Accreditation and policy. 
  • The procedure’s definition and scope, explaining key concepts and terms. 
  • The Spectrum minimum requirements, with brief examples of how to meet them. 
  • Where to find the Spectrum suggested procedure and briefly how it can be used (note: this session will not cover the content of the suggested procedure).
  • Signposting to further information. 

By the end of the session, attendees will:   

  • Understand how Cataloguing relates to Accreditation and policy. 
  • Understand how to meet the Spectrum standard for Cataloguing via the minimum requirements. 
  • Know where to find more information and guidance.   

Format · Presentation style with a brief Q&A section at the end.

Places are available for museums in the North of England, and priority will be given to accredited museums or those working towards accreditation.
