A concert in aid of SOS Stamp Out Suicide

Enjoy an evening of gentle jazz in the company of Anna Shackleton (vocals), Jo Hutchins (piano) and Tim Dawes (double bass) playing a selection of well-known jazz tunes including George Shearing, Hoagy Carmichael and songs by Sting and Billy Joel. Taking place in the beautiful setting of St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Medmenham.

Anna is a highly versatile singer who enjoys bringing her professionally trained voice to the jazz genre. She studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and has extensive experience singing early and baroque repertoire. This maps beautifully onto the jazz that she will be singing for us on the evening.

Jo is an active musician around Marlow, playing piano in bands and choirs, and is the resident organist and director of music for the Hambleden Valley Churches. She has a passion for jazz and is delighted to have the opportunity to bring this talented trio to the Music in Medmenham series of concerts.

Tim is a bass player of many years, who values technical brilliance with in-the-moment beauty and intense fervour, beautiful phrasing and strong powerful highs and lows.

The evening starts at 5.45pm in the village hall where we will be serving chili con carne complete with rice, sour cream and grated cheese and a vegetarian option (£7.50). Wine (£5 per glass) and soft drinks/water will also be served (£1 per glass). The concert starts at 7pm and ends at 9pm with a break of 40 minutes where drinks will be available for purchase in the church.

Tickets cost £20 each (excludes food & bar). Net proceeds will be donated to SOS Stamp Out Suicide.

The wonderful acoustics of St Peter & St Paul’s Church makes this an ideal venue for our concert.
