Fireside Bookshop Presents - Bird in The Belly and Natalie Holmes. Live at The Prince Albert, Stroud.

Fireside Bookshop in Stroud love live music as well as excellent books. We've teamed up with the brilliant Prince Albert to bring you some evenings of fantastic live music from some of the UK's finest touring and local acts. We'll also be hosting the same acts on the same afternoon at Stroud Brewery as part of our Music Nest 'Grownup gigs that welcome kids' shows, so whether you want to share some live music the family or fancy an evening of sonic escapism we've got you covered!

Bird in the Belly - BBC Folk Award nominees Bird in the Belly are a Brighton-based folk group consisting of folk-duo Hickory Signals (Laura Ward and Adam Ronchetti), alt-folk singer-songwriter Jinnwoo (Ben Webb), and multi-instrumentalist and producer Tom Pryor. Together they have collected little known and forgotten lyrics, poems and stories from around the UK, and set them to their own “hypnotically original compositions” (fRoots).

Their sound is raw and bare-boned with “distinctively contemporary and earthy vocalising” (R2 Magazine) – and harks back to the 1960’s Folk Revival sound. Their debut album ‘The Crowing’ (March 2018, GF*M Records) was met with critical acclaim across the board from fRoots, R2, Songlines, Louder Than War, Northern Sky, Folk Radio UK, as well as the Sunday Express giving the album 5/5 and calling it folk album of the year.

Natalie Holmes -

A fantastic Stroud based singer-songwriter who has performed across Europe and collaborated with some top names. Her songwriting is often deeply personal but done with a lightness of touch that means it is as entertaining as it is thought provoking.

Natalie is a fantastic musician and in demand session vocalist who released her debut album this year.
