The Ize Trio

The Ize Trio came to our attention through Vermont’s venerable Yellow Barn. A multicultural ensemble of three brilliant Boston-based musicians, they “create a musical world where jazz, classical and Middle Eastern traditions meet on equal footing”. (Tim Larsen from Jazz Views). We can’t wait to experience the artistry of this unique ensemble.

About The Ize Trio

The Ize Trio is a multi-cultural music ensemble featuring Californian Chase Morrin (Piano), Cypriot George Lernis (Percussion), and Palestinian Naseem Alatrash (Cello). We focus on combining the American art form of Jazz with Middle Eastern traditions in order to create a more inclusive vision for musical communities and to raise awareness for immigrant rights. Through our different backgrounds and cultural traditions, we write original music and tell musical stories that are important in opening positive dialogue about the relationship between the US and the Middle East. We seek to inspire musicians to add their cultural roots to the Jazz tradition and display how music can be a bridge to understanding and connection. Listen to their second album Ize Trio: Global Prayer found on Spotify, Apple, and other streaming platforms.
