Description
Learn how to work with an accompanist.
Come explore what it is like to work with an accompanist. Watch as 6 participants learn valuable insights and techniques when working with an accompanist. You’ll find valuable skills as an observer or a participant.
- Do you have an audition coming up?
- Are you interested in learning to work with a live pianist?
This workshop will give you the opportunity to work with professionals to help your singing skills stand out.
Each selected participant will have 10-12 minutes to work one-on-one with instructor
Larissa Lorenz along with professional accompaniment in front of the audience attendees.
“How to work with a live accompanist” will be the main focus of instruction and include
skill-building direction from Larissa.
Participants are expected to be present for the entire duration of the masterclass, in which
they will get to hear a lecture on the topic, watch and learn from other singers, and also
participate in an instructor Q&A at the end of the class.
As a participant, you must:
- Apply with 2 memorized contrasting song selections (you may be asked to sing one,
both, or parts of the pieces at the instructor's discretion) - Bring prepared music copies of each of your selections for the accompanist to use
- Attend in audition attire
Participation is limited to 6 people.
There is a $40 fee for each participant (which includes 2 comped audience tickets) or a $15
general audience fee to observe the class.
If you need assistance paying for the participation fee, there is an application to request for
a percentage of the cost to be sponsored by UpStreet Music Patrons. If you need assistance please contact upstreetmusicpatrons@gmail.com.
Please arrive early so as to not disrupt the class.
