Friday 6th June: Jean-Samuel Bez (violin) & Gina Kruger (piano)

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel, violinist Jean-Samuel Bez (France) and pianist Gina Kruger (USA) embark on a tour across England, performing his two sonatas for violin and piano. Written almost three decades apart, these masterpieces illustrate Ravel’s evolving musical language—graceful and refined, yet infused with wit and unexpected influences. The second sonata, in particular, embraces the sounds of jazz, with its famous Blues movement. A vibrant homage to one of the most imaginative composers of the 20th century. Other composers include Ysaye, Enescu and Mel Bonis.
