The Voces Festival 2026 brings all the magic of traditional and new music in a unique celebration of world cultures and community.
This final concert of the Voces Festival 2026 will celebrate the talent and remarkable achievements of Musiko Musika’s ECCO Young Leaders Community Project.
The project was created to inspire children and young people to develop their musical skills and creativity and give them the opportunity to embrace music as a passion and as an activity through which they can grow personally, socially and educationally. Through the project these young people have been able to connect and build their sense of community, and find a safe, nurturing and supportive space in the world at a time when they face so many challenges.
During the project the young musicians have developed their skills in music production and songwriting, creating a repertoire of songs for use by Musiko Musika’s team in workshops for children under five in Hammersmith & Fulham libraries, children’s centres and a nursery.
You can read more about the project here
The concert will feature songs composed by the young musicians during the project, as part of a programme of wonderfully diverse music from the Ethnic Contemporary Classical Orchestra (ECCO) and ECCO Young Leaders. This is music that defies cultural boundaries, expressing the ideas, ambitions and interests of young people today.
The project is funded by Hammersmith & Fulham’s King’s Coronation Youth Fund (Arts) with additional support from Arts Council England.

About Musiko Musika and the ECCO
Musiko Musika designs, develops, and delivers innovative music projects, programmes, and events with a social and cultural impact including creative & instrumental workshops, ensembles, training, family learning, audio and video content and publications. Founded in 1998 and jointly directed by the musicians Mauricio Venegas-Astorga and Rachel Pantin we are funded by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation and are one of the Lyric Partners based at the Lyric Hammersmith.
The social and cultural impact of the ECCO and the ECCO Young Leaders programme has been at the forefront of Musiko Musika’s achievements as an organisation committed to improving the lives of young people and communities through music, culture and education. Established in 2009, and based at the Lyric Hammersmith in London, Musiko Musika’s ECCO (Ethnic Contemporary Classical Orchestras) is a project to create youth music ensembles that reflect the diversity and musical interests of the young players and their families. Rooted in, but not constrained by tradition, the ECCO project is based on the concept of a classical orchestra but reaches far beyond it in terms of instrumentation, repertoire and approach. The parents and families of the young musicians are also directly involved in the project and have a key role in connecting the project culturally to the diverse communities of the families.
