Description
Step into the world of one of history's most influential intellectuals, Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406). Recognized as the father of sociology, his scholarly contributions spanned history, economics, and philosophy. Despite this, his profound insights are often confined to academic circles.
In this event, Dr. Shamim Miah, author of Ibn Khaldun: Education, History, and Society, invites you to uncover the intellectual journey of Ibn Khaldun. Drawing from his renowned work, the Muqaddimah, this presentation will delve into Ibn Khaldun's perspectives on education, sociology, and history and their contemporary relevance.
In his foreword to Dr. Miah's book, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, eloquently underscores the enduring relevance of Ibn Khaldun's intellectual discourse in the complex landscape of our postnormal times.
This event is part of Muslim LitFest Birmingham. You can find the full programme here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/muslimlitfest
