Through personal stories and historical insight, Nadia Khan highlights the spiritual core of traditional Muslim dance, showing how its movements reflect worship, celebration, and even political resistance. From the Sufi whirling dervishes to the folk dances of Central Asia, she journeys along the historic Silk Road, illustrating how the dance of each community captures its essence and is central to their preservation.
Author of Dance Histories, Nadia offers much-needed correction to the narrative surrounding dance in the Muslim world, inviting readers to explore its true beauty and its profound impact on both Muslim and non-Muslim societies alike.
