'Martin Lings: From Sufi Spirituality to Shakespearean Symbolism' with Dr. Reza Shah-Kazemi

Sun 18 Oct 2026 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM London Muslim Centre, E1 1JQ

Martin Lings (1909-2005) is widely known in the Muslim community for his unrivalled and much-loved Prophetic biography, Muhammad: His Life Based on the Earliest Sources; but Lings was also a prolific scholar on both Sufism and Shakespeare. Through his work on the sacred and universal aspects of Shakespeare’s writings, he showed how these seemingly unconnected worlds were in fact remarkably intertwined.

Join Dr. Shah-Kazemi, a student and friend of Lings, for a fascinating discussion on one of the 20th century's most influential Muslim thinkers.
