A Gathering for Ancestral Story & Soul Remembering

You are invited to a warm and courageous descent into story — one that asks something significant of us, and holds us with care as we go.

Together, we will dare to dive beneath the surface of a traditional tale — down into its underbelly — where the bones, the shadows, and the hidden treasures lie. Rather than skimming the story for inspiration or moral, we will descend into its depths and court the pearls of ancient wisdom that the living story still carries.

For stories are not relics. They are not fixed texts trapped in the past. They are living beings — shaped by land, carried by breath, transformed across generations. When we approach them with reverence and courage, they reveal the encoded teachings of an older way of being human: a way rooted in reciprocity, initiation, soul-making, and relationship with the Sacred.

This will be a space where we can listen fully, question boldly, and allow the story to work on us.

Together we will:

  • Listen to the telling of a traditional myth

  • Come into relationship with the images and teachings it carries

  • Look beyond purely psychological interpretation toward the animate landscape of an intact culture

  • Explore what these stories reveal about both the loss of culture and the possibility of cultural regeneration

We will be journeying with a tale comes to us from the lands now known as Moldova, and it carries the name Basil the Handsome and Leonora Golden-Locks – Sister of the Sun. This is a tremendous story, and one that we could spend weeks exploring. I want to share this one with you, not because I believe we will get 'through it all,' but because the little whispers of remembering that we lift up in our time together are so deeply beautiful that I hope they will settle in your heart as seeds of memory, which may one day sprout into your life as never-before-seen vines of culture.

If you feel a longing for deeper roots…
If you sense there is wisdom in the old stories that still speaks to this moment…
If you are curious about what it means to participate in the re-membering of culture…

Please come and join us.
