Wooster / Orrville NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner
Need help?
You are invited to the 2019 Wooster / Orrville NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner on Saturday, October 12th, Kittredge Hall. Please join us for an evening of food, music, and inspirational speakers.
This year's speaker, Mark Goodman, graduated from our very own College of Wooster. His impressive resume includes Chief Marketing Officer of Fortune 500 companies. He will be speaking on Color, College, Capitalism, and Consciousness. Our speaker will be joined by words from our NAACP president John Clay, highlights from our past scholarship winners, and two awards to community members. We will also have a silent auction, and a live cake auction, to raise funds.
Proceeds from this annual event are used to fund educational scholarships for Wayne County youth of African-American descent who demonstrate leadership qualities and have financial need. The Wooster / Orrville NAACP has distributed over $42,000 in scholarships over the past 11 years.
Proceeds from this event also fund the Wooster / Orrville NAACP. The national NAACP is committed to political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons. The Wooster/Orrville NAACP builds strong relationships within our community, and with community leaders. We uphold and fight for the civil rights for all people in our community. The Wooster/Orrville NAACP gives all youths in our community the opportunity to learn black history(American History).
Our dinner buffet will include a herb roast chicken breast with peach basil relish, balsamic grilled portabella mushrooms with scallions and char peppers, macaroni and cheese, greens, corn bread, and salad. Gluten free and vegan friendly options are available.
In respect to feedback we received from previous years, the Wooster/ Orrville NAACP is absorbing the online payment processing fees for the 2019 Freedom Fund Dinner.
