John Walsh is an amateur astronomer from Ballinamuck in County Longford, living in Sallins.
He studied Physics at the University of Limerick but has had a lifelong interest in astronomy. In 2024 John decided to take the next step and try Astrophotography and and has been deeply involved in the hobby ever since.
His talk at Naas Library will cover everything from tripods and DSLR cameras to telescopes and mounts, to stacking, calibration frames, guiding, processing etc.
He will also talk about the night sky in general and his own background to the hobby.
The talk is suitable for a range of experience levels, from complete beginners or enthusiasts, to more experienced intermediate imagers.
