“Our Tale, Told with a Pinch of Spice”
At Namaste Cookery School, we like to think of Indian cooking as something joyful, welcoming and deeply comforting. In India, vegetarian and vegan food is simply part of everyday life, and we love showing people how easy, flavourful and exciting plant-based cooking can be when you know a few simple tricks, rather the facts. Our cookery school is run by the award-winning Namaste Village Restaurant's team, who have spent years celebrating great Indian vegetarian food, across the UK. We created the school to take away the exhaggerated mystery that has been built around Indian cooking. Many people feel a bit overwhelmed by all the spices and flavours, but once you get the hang of it and know what really goes on in the Indian households, it all becomes surprisingly fun and approachable. Whether you're completely new to cooking or you already enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, we’re here to help you feel confident and inspired.
During our demonstrations and classes, you’ll learn how to make real Indian dishes that you can enjoy at home. It’s not just about recipes, but about understanding how simple and satisfying vegetarian cooking can be. It’s good for you, good for the planet and, most importantly, absolutely delicious. We also like to send you home with a few thoughtful keepsakes from the day. Each guest receives a Namaste Cookery School apron to wear during the class, a beautifully handcrafted cotton bag to take home, and a certificate of course completion — a small celebration of your new skills and confidence in the kitchen.
