The Uninvited

While vacationing on the English coast, composer Rick Fitzgerald (Ray Milland) and his sister Pamela (Ruth Hussey) find an an abandoned 18th-century house and decide to buy it. The owner, Commander Beech (Donald Crisp), associates it with the tragic death of his daughter and is willing to part with it despite his granddaughter Stella’s (Gail Russell) objection. The Fitzgeralds move in and soon find themselves, with the help of Stella, battling it out with two very prickly ghosts. (1944, 1Hr 38Min)

MONDAY NIGHT PRESENTER: Katherine Byrd  has worked in theatres in one form or another her whole adult life. From the box office of the old Janaf Cinema,( selling tickets to Jim & Tammy Faye Baker ) to being part of the Naro during the Actor’s Theatre days,(showing Tench & Tom around when they rented it for their Ingmar Bergman festival) to Stage Manager at the ODU Riverview Theatre to Operations and Marketing Manager for AMC Theatres and finally  Media Sales in local Radio and for the Virginian Pilot. Now happily retired, she can spend more time watching Pre-Code movies and reading biographies of Old Hollywood stars. Fun Fact – she has met Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Ann Miller, Janet Leigh, Robert Osborne, Vincent Price and  John Carriadine.
