The Commonwealth of Amnesia Book Launch

Fri 7 Aug 2026 7:00 PM - 10:30 PM Ode to Sirens, 6160

Celebrate the launch of award-winning poet Natalie Damjanovich-Napoleon’s third collection, The Commonwealth of Amnesia—a bold, visual intervention into the Australian historical narrative.

Published through the stunning Rabbit Poets Series of nonfiction poetry and presented as a highlight of the Perth Poetry Festival 2026, this evening unveils a handcrafted work that defies social conventions to challenge the histories society chooses to forget. Through innovative visual erasure poetry created from five years of archival research and writing, Damjanovich-Napoleon exposes the roots of past xenophobia and silencing, offering an unflinching, courageous, and deeply inventive account that urges us to confront our forgotten immigrant histories to build a more reconciled future.

Featuring a launch speech by Dr Vahri McKenzie, and words and music by:
